Remains upright HARDINESS: Tolerates drought & intense temperatures. Resistant to disease & pests MAINTENANCE: Low. Prune to above the ground in early spring for new growth LIGHT: Best in full sun. Tolerates partial shade SOIL: Tolerates most soil types. Prefers moist sand or clay WILDLIFE: Feeds grazers. Shelters prairie animals

A native perennial (May – frost) that forms tufts. A good choice for erosion control. GROWTH: Up to 2 – 4 ft. tall HARDINESS: Deer Resistant MAINTENANCE: Low maintenance for native groundcover. Not ideal for manicured gardens due to natural seed scatter LIGHT: Tolerates full sun & shade. SOIL: Tolerates various soil conditions, but prefers well-drained, high moisture soils, such as wetlands & woodlands within flood plains. WILDLIFE: Host plant for moths. Food for birds & small animals
